The Community Events & Recreation Department provides event services and rentals for the parks, campgrounds, facilities and fairgrounds owned by Skamania County. We also provide recreational programs, events and promote tourism in Skamania County. We partner with with the Skamania County Fair Board and others to produce the annual Skamania County Fair and Timber Carnival, The Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival, Skamania County Spring Fest and many other fun events.

Events and Festivals:

Skamania County Fair and Timber Carnival

The original “Free-gate” fair in the Northwest includes lots of daily livestock and horse shows, animals, 4-H fun, delicious food, and a treasure of still life exhibits. Don’t miss exciting entertainment, contests, demonstrations in the Exhibit Hall and the annual parade, timber carnival, market sale, and firework displays.

Columbia Gorge Bluegrass Festival 

The premier bluegrass festival in the Northwest!  Come enjoy national and regional bands, good food, dances and more.

Skamania County Spring Fest

This event includes our 7th Annual Country Chic and Handmade Creations Bazaar (Exhibit Hall), Community Garage Sale & continuation of Handmade Creations (Stock Barn) and our newly added plant and garden sale (Market Pavilion)! What a great way to bring in all the feelings of spring!

Gorge Blues and Brews 

Don't miss the Gorge Blues & Brews Festival 29th Anniversary! Enjoy a weekend of world-renowned live blues music with panoramic views. We'll have 35 cold beer taps, 3-5 local wineries, a distillery pouring tastes and great cocktails, and tons of food!

Also run by our Skamania Chamber of Commerce it includes the Starlight Parade, Arts and Crafts Bazaar, Community events, Business open houses, Nativity displays, many more activities.

Christmas Basket Program
