The Skamania County Board of Health, mandated by the Revised Code of Washington 43.20, consists of the three (3) County Commissioners. The board is responsible for the health needs of Skamania County residents, as well as coordination of projects and resources to meet and identify these needs.  Tasks carried out by the Skamania County Board of Health include disease prevention, health education and implementation of laws pertaining to public health.

The Board of Health meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Commissioners' boardroom on the lower level of the Skamania County Courthouse. Please see the calendar below for meeting dates and times. Meeting dates and locations that are adjusted will be noted in the current month's agenda.

11th Annual Invasive Species and Exotic Pest Workshop

  • Introduction: Join us during National Invasive Species Awareness Week for the 11th annual Invasive Species & Exotic Pest Workshop! This event is designed to provide information on invasive species management to professionals and the interested public.

We have a great lineup of speakers who will dive into topics surrounding zebra mussel contaminated moss balls, pathways to ornamental weeds, spotted lanternfly risks to agriculture, first foods and invasive species management, riparian restoration techniques, and more! 

It will be co-hosted by the United States Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service, the Washington Invasive Species Council, Washington State University Extension, Skamania County Noxious Weed Control Program, and the Columbia Gorge Cooperative Weed Management Area.

Pesticide recertification credits are anticipated from Oregon Department of Agriculture and Washington State Department of Agriculture (pending approval).
