WHEREAS, Southwest Washington Health District, a governmental entity, currently provides public health services for both Clark and Skamania Counties in the state of Washington; and

WHEREAS, Clark County adopted a resolution (Clark County Resolution 2002-06-15) on June 11, 2002 setting forth Clark County’s intent to withdraw from the Southwest Washington Health District effective January 1, 2003; and

WHEREAS, Clark County has indicated its intent to incorporate a substantial portion of the existing personnel and programs of the Southwest Washington Health District into the newly forming Clark County public health department;

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOVLED BY THE SKAMANIA COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS, that pursuant to the provisions of RCW 70.46.090, Skamania County hereby gives its official notice of its intent to withdraw from the Southwest Washington Health District effective January 1, 2003; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that no later than September 30, 2002, the Skamania County Board of Commissioners will make a determination as to how it will provide public health services for Skamania County as mandated by federal and state law.
