RESOLUTION NO. 2002-17

(Disban Regional Planning Council)

WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Council was established through resolution 1973-33 by the Skamania County Board of County Commissioners during a public meeting;

WHEREAS, it was the desire of Skamania County to join with other municipal corporations and organizations to form a Regional Planning Council for the purpose of enlarging and formalizing cooperative efforts through planning amongst the several jurisdictions, and to provide a proportionate share of the costs of such work;

WHEREAS, the functions of the Regional Planning Council are now completed by Economic Development Council and the Skamania County Department of Planning and Community Development;

WHEREAS, the members of the Regional Planning Council voted to disband the organization;

WHEREAS, it is the desire of Skamania County to eliminate duplicated services and expenses, in order to better serve the citizens of Skamania County;

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Skamania County, Washington, that it acknowledges that the Skamania Regional Planning Council is hereby disbanded and dissolved.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Skamania County is no longer a member of or participant in the Skamania Regional Planning Council.
