The position of Skamania County Clerk is best described as the administrative and financial officer of the Superior Court.

As part of the executive branch of County government, the Clerk protects the judiciary from the appearance of impropriety or unfairness in maintaining records, implementing orders or managing funds.

As an independent elected official, the Clerk preserves public access to a fair, accurate and independently established record of the Court.  This record is maintained in perpetuity for the benefit of future generations.

Collections Deputy & Payment of Your Legal Financial Obligations

In cooperation with the Court, Prosecutor and Department of Corrections (DOC), collection of legal financial obligations from criminal defendants has increased 500% since 1995.  Of defendants our office monitors, over 85% are current with their payments.

 

Federal Passport Agency

Currently, we are the only office in the mid-Columbia region that processes passport applications

 

Jury Management

Our office provides jury management services for all levels of Court (including District and Municipal Courts) in Skamania County.  We send out and process 180 summonses for jury service each month.
