Comments from Ms Green with regard to May 15, 2008 Public Hearing

Dear SHAC,

 

I really love Mt. St. Helens and the surrounding natural areas. I'm so glad to hear that the petition to open the coal mine was squashed. I also heard that there needs to be a scientist to ensure protection for the area and keep the focus on science and conservation. I'd love to see that happen.

We definitely need a unbiased scientist on this committee (not a Bush purchased scientist), as MSH is fragile and regenerative and needs a thoughtful, balanced approach to its stewardship.
