RESOLUTION 2007-62
(Setting Current Expense and
WHEREAS, Skamania County Board of Commissioners has properly given notice of a public hearing held December 27, 2007 to consider Skamania County’s tax levies, pursuant to RCW 84.55.120, and the Budget for the 2008 calendar year; and
WHEREAS, Skamania County Board of Commissioners, after hearing and duly considering all relevant evidence and testimony presented, has determined that Skamania County requires an increase in property tax revenue from the previous year, in addition to the increase resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property, in order to discharge the expected expenses and obligations of the Current Expense Fund and County Road Fund and in the best interest of Skamania County; and
WHEREAS, to meet the anticipated revenues from property taxes in the 2008 Skamania County Budget, adopted December 27, 2008, it is necessary to levy a 1% increase over the 2007 regular property taxes, plus the value of new construction and any increase in value of state assessed property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Skamania County Board of Commissioners that $1,518,943 was levied from the Current Expense levy in 2007 and that an increase in the regular property tax levy for 2008 to $1,534,132 be levied which is an increase of $15,189 and one percent (1%) over the amount levied for collection in 2007. Additionally, the increased amount resulting from the addition of new construction and improvements to property and any increase in the value of state assessed property shall be collected;
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that $1,204,136 was levied from the
PASSED IN REGULAR SESSION this 27th day of December 2007.
