RESOLUTION NO. 2003-35         

 

RESOLUTION TO ASSIGN COUNTY ROAD PROJECT NUMBER FOR SNOW PLOWING SERVICE ON FOREST SERIVCE 90 ROAD

 

 

WHEREAS, the board of County Commissioners have determined that it is in the County’s best interest to provide year long access, to the extent practicable, to the northwest section of the County via the Forest Service 90 Road from milepost 0.00 to 19.7 for county residents, commercial operators, members of the public, recreational visitors, law enforcement, search and rescue and emergency personnel, and others; and

 

WHEREAS, the County and the U.S. Forest Service have annually entered into a Forest Road Agreement where both agencies have agreed to cooperate to maintain roads of mutual use; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have determined that this portion of the Forest Service Road is of mutual benefit and use to the Forest Service and Skamania County; and

 

WHEREAS, the County has the authority under RCW 36.82.140 and 36.33.220, and under the Forest Road Agreement to use Road Funds (RCW Chapter 36.82) to maintain (e.g. snowplow) this portion of the Forest Service Road; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have authorized by motion action, in the September 2, 2003 Board of County Commissioners meeting, the County Engineer to proceed with a Public Works contract for snow plowing of the United States Forest Service 90 Road (Forest Service Road) from milepost 0.00 to 19.7; and

 

WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners have allocated by motion action, in the September 2, 2003 Board of County Commissioners meeting, $25,000 in County Road Funds for snow plowing of the United States Forest Service 90 Road (Forest Service Road) from milepost 0.00 to 19.7; and

 

BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners hereby authorizes County Road Project No. 2003-05 for development and administration of a Public Works Contract for snow plowing of the United States Forest Service 90 Road (Forest Service Road) from milepost 0.00 to 19.7.
