Questions and Answers

Q: What is a Small Works Roster?

A:   The small works roster is a process through which the county can streamline the bidding process for public works projects $200,000 or less (RCW 39.04.155). All contractors on the small works roster are invited to bid on public works projects in their area of expertise. The Public Works Department keeps the small works roster updated and it is available to all county departments. A small works contract bid does not require the county to advertise in the designated legal newspaper and is only open to contractors on the roster listed under a specific area of expertise. The competitive bid process requires advertisement and the contract is open to all contractors to bid.

Q: What is the  Vendor Roster?

A: We use the vendor roster to purchase equipment, material, and supplies costing between $2,500 and $25,000. If you sell equipment, material or supplies you may want to become a member of our vendor roster.

Q:  What is the Professional Services Roster?

A:  The professional services roster is primarily for architectural and/or engineering  type of services in the amount of $200,000 or less. If you provide a professional type of service, you may want to join our list of professional consultants.
