ORDINANCE NO. 2003-06

BEFORE THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS

SKAMANIA COUNTY, WASHINGTON

(Amendment to Skamania County Code Title 10, Changes to Speed Limit)

WHEREAS, Skamania County has adopted the Washington Model Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 308-330 WAC, and

WHEREAS, Skamania County Code Chapter 10.04 establishes the speed limits for roads within the County, and

WHEREAS, the Skamania County Public Works Director/County Engineer has determined that the existing speed limit along Canyon Creek Road #91140 should be changed to enhance traffic safety, and

WHEREAS, the Skamania County Board of Commissioners finds that it is in the public’s interest to change the existing speed limit along Canyon Creek Road #91140 as detailed below:

1. Canyon Creek Road #91140 beginning at Milepost 3.88 and ending at Milepost 4.22 (end of road) as follows:

· Milepost 3.88 to milepost 3.90 – “Reduce Speed Ahead” from 45 MPH to 35 MPH.

· Milepost 3.90 to milepost 4.22 (end of road) – “Speed Limit” of 35 MPH.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this Board of County Commissioners of Skamania County, Washington amends Skamania County Code 10.04.020 (ordinance no. 1979-05, 1982-02, 1987-03, 1995-07, 1995-06), 10.05.010 (Ordinance no. 1994-10), and the following speed limit be implemented and posted as detailed herein:

1. Canyon Creek Road #91140 beginning at Milepost 3.90 and ending at Milepost 4.22 (end of road) as follows:

· Milepost 3.90 to milepost 3.92 – “Reduce Speed Ahead” from 45 MPH to 35 MPH.

· Milepost 3.92 to milepost 4.22 (end of road) – “Speed Limit” of 35 MPH.
