MEET THE STAFF

Skamania County Assessor
Gabe Spencer: I’ve been a resident of Skamania county for 27 years. In the office, I’ve been enjoying the transition into a managerial role, while continuing to do my previous jobs of drafting and appraising local property. In my personal life, I enjoy spending time with my wife Maria and our daughters Isabella and Sofia. Playing guitar, tennis, and hanging out with my labs also keep me busy.

Departmental Assistant
Ila “Mae” Thompson: Public records officer and senior-disabled exemption administrator. I also provide assistance to the Assessor and the Administrative Assistant. I contribute on special projects, diverse tasks and secretarial/accounting support to the Assessor’s Office. I have worked for Skamania County for 34 years. I am married and live in Carson with my husband Peter T. Thompson since 1974. I enjoy family and friends, assisting with Charity work/Christmas Basket Program/Assist in Running Club Races & Marathons. Antique/yard sales/flowers.

Chief Deputy/Appraiser
Leslie Moore: Real property appraiser
Duties include physically inspecting real property for Ad Valorem tax purposes, attending B.O.E hearings and helping with Exemption programs. I live with my husband Jim and daughter Sara. We enjoy camping, gardening and our 3 grandchildren.

Appraiser
Deana Midland: I have been a resident of Skamania County my entire life. I joined the Assessors office in September of 2006. My goal is to become an Appraiser. Currently, I am learning about how the office works, taking appraisal classes and gaining field experience. I am married and have three daughters. Our family is very active in our local 4-H. We also coach Girls Minor Softball.
